Barron's brand new Vocabulary Trainers are brief, compact, modestly priced Language Learning cassettes for absolute beginners in any one of five foreign languages. These programs are especially handy for international travelers who have no prior knowledge of the language spoken in the country they are visiting. Vocabulary Trainers will correct that problem in a relaxed and informal manner that makes learning fun. More than 500 of the most commonly used words and expressions with their English translations are presented on each cassette. An accompanying booklet serves as a written guide and lists all words and phrases with translations, so learners can see and read along with what they are hearing. In addition, the booklet includes a quick pronunciation guide of the target language, and basic phrases to help learners get by at airports, hotels, banks, and similar places. On cassettes, each word or phrase is first given in English. A pause that follows offers learners a chance to try recalling the equivalent foreign word and pronounce it aloud. The foreign translation is then given.
